Physical and Emotional Support
Being diagnosed with cancer undoubtedly brings physical and psychological challenges to young patients and survivors. Compared with cancer patients and survivors of other age groups, they face completely different challenges. People aged 15-39 are in a pivotal stage of life, many are pursuing education, building careers, or planning to start a family and have children. However, cancer diagnosis could disrupt their original plans, adding immense mental stress.
Recognizing this, our Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Support Committee aims to provide various practical and psychological support through a team of registered social workers, counselors, speech therapists and other committee members. Together, we hope to accompany young patients and survivors through their difficulties and assist them in their new lives.
In order to support AYA cancer patients and survivors, our Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Support Committee has three main goals:
1)Providing psychological support services to improve mental health, emotional well-being, and foster positivity throughout the cancer journey.
2)Building social networks within the organization to promote peer support.
3)Providing essential rehabilitation information and resources for cancer recovery.
